Happy Birthday Logan!

Sunday was Logan's first birthday. We can't believe he is one already! We have been blessed with such a sweet, wonderful little boy. And with incredible family and friends. :)

He had a great birthday. Thanks to all of you who came and made it a very special day for him He loved all of his presents (well mom and dad loved the clothes and Logan loved the toys). And he did a pretty good job of eating (attacking) his cake. Thanks to Aunt Joani for making a beautiful cake.

We also celebrated Sophie's fourth birthday. Unfortunately, I don't have many pictures with Sophie in them. For some reason, almost all of mine turned out to be of Logan. :)

Anniversary

Since most of this blog will probably end up being about Logan, I thought I would start it off with a post about our anniversary. Sept. 11 was our ninth anniversary (yes, we had the date 2 years before 9-11). We left Logan with my parents and headed up to Hood River for our first night away since he was born.

When we arrived on Sunday, after a little confusion over where to park, we did a road bike ride around the lower Hood River valley stopping at several of the fruit stands on the "Fruit Loop." We were lucky to find a local road biker (owner of one of the fruit stands) who mapped out a great 26-mile course for us. I was pretty tired by the end, where we had to climb back up through downtown Hood River (Jon wondered if I was actually going to make it back to the truck). After our ride, we went to the bed and breakfast where we were staying and rested (and showered!) before dinner. Then we crashed for the rest of the night.

The next morning we had a wonderful breakfast before heading out to do a little wandering around downtown Hood River and then stop at a waterfall on the way home.

But, honestly, we really couldn't wait to get back to see our little boy. Grandma and Papa said that he did great and was a "perfect" baby while we were gone.
Did I mention that he's learning to walk? Actually, he's pretty good at it now.

First Post

After months of reading Joani and Jodi's blogs, I'm finally getting on board. Actually, I was starting to feel bad that the only place Logan was getting coverage was on Joani's blog. :) So, Joani came over last night and helped me get started. Right after she left, the power went out, so I couldn't work on it while her teaching was fresh in my mind. But, I managed to stumble through it anyway.

Really, most of this will probably end up being about Logan, but Jon and I might actually slip in our own stuff once and a while. :)
